One who strives to illuminate ...
Within our classroom, I expect [quite incessantly] solid observation, skepticism, research, and analysis. As members of our school’s community, I find it to be imperative that we navigate near the cusp of emerging technologies that can positively affect learning, and be willing and able to share these opportunities with each other. I strive not only to share knowledge and opportunity, but to illuminate the possibilities within us all.
As an educator, I appreciate the acquisition of new knowledge and the value of fundamentals and research. Yet as a scientist, I am passionately positioned on the edge of possibility and innovation. I interpret technology in my classroom as a prerequisite for comprehending the compendium of our digital lives. I expect to deepen my ability to support a diverse population of learners while effectively integrating technology into my curriculum. I want to be able to offer my students and my community more than they anticipate, I want to raise our expectations over the hurdles that technology can impose, and I want to prepare our students to be successful citizens in a digital world that is changing technologically, exponentially.
Commitment, aspiration, and philanthropy, three reasons why I teach; three reasons I am here. These words define why I teach and are the language of my approach to new opportunities. I am devoted to what I do, I aim for value and for progress, and I actively seek out ways to give back to society – for the greater good.
